Settling Down to A New LIfe – the Happy Life

May 3rd

I can’t believe the changes in my Sindorei in just a few days. He looks a lot younger than he did when he came to me in Shattrath just a few short months ago. I think this collapse of his has been coming for quite a while, too much work, not enough rest and just being the driven man that he normally is. No, he’s getting better; however, he’s not “well” yet according to the healers. It will take time.

He’s still sad about all of the changes in his life in the last week or so although he seems to have reconciled himself to it for now. He laughs more, he smiles more and well, things just couldn’t be better in the bedroom. At least he is doing what the healers are telling him to do, this time. I think it actually scared him enough to think that might have just been spiraling down into the abysmal depths of death and he has too much more of a life to live now. The only thing that he is grousing about now is the fact that he can’t smoke as much as he would like, although he will sit outside and have one occasionally.

The boys got the shoes delivered to Shattrath and apparently, Kaldor and his brother ran into some of their old friends. I keep forgetting that they are almost grown men sometimes. They both came back to Dalaran smelling of mead and just as pleased with them as they can be. I am going to have Fnor sit down with them and talk about some things that boys their age need to know. I’m sure they know about the birds and bees, however, I am not sure that they realize the long term ramifications of sleeping with the wrong woman. I think Fnor can paint that picture much better than I can.

The workmen are almost finished with the renovations in the main house now and I will have to admit that I am nervous about taking up residence there. I mean, he does have all of those employees that will be shocked to see a Kaldorei woman prancing about the place. However, I won’t mind that as much as I would have to waltz across the yard anytime I want to speak with Fnor.

I think the two youngest are going back to Darnassus with their Grandmother for their schooling, although they will be returning here every few days, Fnor has made sure of that. Naturally, one of them has changed his mind as to what his studies are going to be after being exposed to all of these mages here in Dalaran. It does cause me some concern because I know how some of my people feel about the magic. The youngest one has started exhibiting signs of being druid; I guess he is a throw-back to my great-Grandfather, my Mother’s Father. Why do they have to grow up? I know that it is going to be different for Fnor and me when the children start getting on with their lives.

At least, I know that Fnor and I can take care of whatever it is that they want to do because he has spent most of his adult life making money and getting the better choices in life offered to him. I am very proud of him…well, most of the time.

He was outside in the sunlight for a while this morning, just sitting there with his journal balanced on his lap and writing. I think that he will be happy when he can get back to his old routine in his office again, although I think that Fnar has been keeping him apprised of how the business is going. Naturally his little redheaded sister has been keeping him informed on how the finances are for the business and the house as well. He may be resting physically but I can already see the change in him as his mind takes off on these jaunts of what he wants to do next.

I also think that his Death Knight sister may be moving back in as well. Seems that she hasn’t heard from her man in a long time and has all but given up hope of seeing him again which has caused her to think about things. They were engaged and he had taken off on some business, never to return. A few letters does not keep a woman’s body warm at night, although, I think a part of her has already reconciled itself to the fact that it was a dalliance of some kind that she got involved with. I know that she came and talked to Fnor for several hours yesterday and seemed to leave with some kind of purpose in her mind. She’s a funny one; she has a great sense of humor for a Death Knight and is very caring about the people she’s associated with – her family, her friends and most of all, the mage she was involved with. Absence makes the heart grow fonder; however, extended absences make the heart get tired of waiting.

I’m sitting here in the bedroom listening to Fnor sleep. He does sleep a lot and will continue to do so for a while or that’s what the healers have told me. He looks rested and seems to be settling down from all of his anxiety of not getting everything done overnight. Funny man, you can’t do everything for everybody without paying the price at some point.

Yes, it feels wonderful to be able to go to bed with him every night. To feel his arms go around me and that long leg of his thrown over mine as if he were trying to make sure that I wouldn’t leave while he was asleep. His confidence seems to be returning, although, that fear of being left alone without anyone to care about will always be a part of him, I think.

Damn it, Pan and Lumina are starting their business again. They both need some exercise and I don’t think that Fnor would mind if I took them out for a jaunt and did some exploring of my own. No harm can come to me with these two cats. I might wait until Kaldor has finished his chores that Fnor has given him and then we’ll go off together.

I think that I am going to enjoy this new life here in Dalaran. I can walk with the streets holding Fnor’s arm and not have to worry about the things that I used too. He and I both are wearing those wedding ring things that the Sindorei seem to be all thrilled about. I didn’t need a ring to tell me where I wanted to be. I must get with Lali and talk to her about the wedding and honeymoon she had with her Sindorei – maybe ask her about the fact that Fnor and I are mated but we never had one of those fancy weddings and maybe we should or at least renew our vows. Fnor doesn’t seem to think it’s necessary but I think I would like something special like that – I don’t know that many people yet in Dalaran; however, I think that something could be done. Maybe just a big party.

I thought I would sign my name because Fnor does his that way, sorry, it makes me giggle but I like it.
