As you can plainly see, I am truly an altoholic from the number of characters that I write about. It is something that I truly enjoy doing from a storytelling perspective with all of these journals. Oh, there are going to grammatical errors and occasionally some spelling difficulties; however, I just enjoy writing and getting immersed in my characters. I play on an RP server primarily and really enjoy it – so, I like to share some of the life and times of these characters with my writing and publishing. I’m not a professional writer by any means, however, when I’m not playing in-game, I’m usually writing and there is a book in the works as well. I hope that people are enjoying these scribbles of mine anyway.
It was a busy week for me in WoW – trying to get some of the rep grinds back under control and just getting to enjoy some different levels of the game. Finally got one of my characters to level 90 (one of five) that I had to skip, jump and roll my way through a portion of the Cata expansion. This was a tough one to get to 90 because it does seem like the characters much faster through the zones than their professions can keep up with. However, I will have to say that this last one seemed to take forever to get through the last four bars to 90. Having to get the gear along the way was adding to the time that it took to get her there, however, she’s there and ready to take up her place in the daily grind and more questing.
Yesterday we were supposed to have blizzard conditions and a massive amount of snow in the area in which I live. Well, we got the wind and the blowing snow, however, the snow was a paltry five or six inches instead of the twenty inches that had been forecast. This was a wet heavy snow that usually spells “loss of power” even though our lines are underground; we always seem to get some clown driving too fast for conditions and will take out one of the major power boxes, which means – loss of power for a rather large neighborhood.
When I am questioning the ability to be able to play the game the way that I like, I will sometimes roll a new alt, just for grins. Yesterday, I decided that it was time for me to roll a monk. A Panderan monk and go through all of the quests from the starting area to Stormwind. I will admit that it took some getting used to because I play primarily “ranged” characters. I had a blast and almost didn’t want to stop playing him. I actually liked playing him so much that he got his own little blog done today because I really just took the time to get involved with the Lore.
You know, my characters may not have the best gear, I may not be able to play the “best” that I should in comparison with some of the better players, and however, I have enjoyed this hobby for roughly eight years. At one point, I was a hardcore raider which I got burned out on completely after raiding five nights a week for three years. I’ll get to where the rest of the people are in the game eventually and enjoy every grind thing there is to enjoy in so far as dailies – getting capped on Valor and going oops, forgot to do that rep and having to back up.
Being a senior citizen, I can play as much as I want or as little as I want, and I’ll admit that I am not an expert nor am I as fast on the keyboards as some of my younger counterparts. However, I will have to admit that I am having the time of my life playing this game; it’s a hobby that can be a bit time consuming. It sure beats the heck out of sitting around with a bunch of other older people discussing things that old people do – I tend to yawn a great deal when the topics fall on the negative side of things.
I have met so many great people in WoW and of course, a few douche bags here and there – all in all, with this being my very first true MMO, I’m still fascinated by it all and haven’t gotten bored yet.
