Good Grief!! This month has definitely flown by and I have been extremely busy playing World of Warcraft. It’s almost like old times again, however, it takes quite a bit of effort to keep up with everything that is going on with my characters these days.
Okay, I’ll admit that I am a geek and I do have a roster to track my characters, all 42 of them and a spread sheet that tells what they’ve done as well as tracking the numerous sets of BOA gear that I have roaming around. I actually feel pretty proud of myself that I have that many characters in various stages of development and have cut myself back to having them all crammed into four accounts. Yes, I do box play some of them occasionally, however, I will admit that I haven’t done that in several months due to some unexpected computer issues and my pairs got out of sync.
I will have to freely admit that I haven’t done that much in the way of RP in the last month either because I have been too busy getting things sorted out and organized again, makes me completely bonkers if things are messed up. I’ve done some lamping here and there and joined in a few times, however, nothing that has kept me riveted to my chair for any kind of storyline link.
One of the things that I have run into of late has been a plethora of people just stomping all over the Lore and coming up with special snowflake stories. I’m not a Lore freak and I do think that it’s okay to bend the Lore a little bit, however, to just outright break it and bring in character mechanics that can’t happen from other games just blows what is left of my feeble mind. Half this and that, some conflicting so badly that they would be dead before they reached adulthood much less even conceived by their parents. I’ve seen quite a few odd things in my nine plus years of playing the game, however, recently, there seems to be real strange stuff out there and my characters tend to scamper away as quickly as possible. Sorry, that’s the end of my little rant and I am sure that some folks will have a different opinion from mine.
I’m just having fun getting immersed in the game again and trying to have a good time. Timeless Isle – OMG!! I’m a little late to the party on that one as well as Thunder Isle, however, it’s just mind boggling at the things that can rip your face off. Pink Flamingos? Oh yes, I’m sure a couple of my characters probably are permanently traumatized by those creatures. I also need to teach my characters that they can’t all go to the same camp to leave the Isle too – I do play both Horde and Alliance if you’re even familiar with my blogs, you’d see that too. Yes, I have had some funny moments when I switch from one of my Alliance players to one of my Horde – yep, died a couple of times, not only of embarrassment.
Luckily, I have found a group on the Alliance side that was kind enough to take my Alliance main along with them and I’m still sitting here thinking that I need to go back so I can find my way around. I’m still sitting here with just five 90s, however, that’s enough for now, what with grinding for reps as well as trying to keep up with the latest changes – can’t say that I’ve run a dungeon or a scenario in forever, however, I do plan on getting back into that area again once I build up my immunity to the elitists.
