Timeless Isle…

Fnor - Final

Went out to the Isle today and spent a couple of hours doing dailies as well as picking up the coins that are so desperately needed for the new upgrades and valor.  Fnor is my Main on the Horde side and his gear isn’t too shabby and he’s running some LFR, just getting started, that is.

It was a time of laughter and tears this morning as he went scampering all over the Isle, killing anything that had any value to it as well as picking up as many coins as he could through his skinning.  Didn’t do too shabby with the coins between the kills and skinning of the beasts that some of the others left behind.   I’m a late bloomer on getting to the Isle so it was like “hey noob!” killed a few rares and debated on the Celestial run and decided against it today.   Considering this is only the third time he’s made the trip out there on a regular basis, it wasn’t too shabby – got some gear for some of the alts at least.

I do wish there was a guide of some kind for the uninformed on how you do some of the things on the Isle because I went wildly careening all over the place, stumbled into a few things that were extremely deadly even with dropping traps and kiting like a mad man.  Since I’m running most of it solo, I’ll take on just about anything a few times before I go off on another rampage. Luckily I did have someone show my Alliance Main, Kaldor, around the Isle a little bit , so, Fnor wasn’t totally in the dark.

It was fun and another place to grind things out for the upgrades and valor.  Fnor has done all of the quests pretty much that can be had in Pandaria and I was looking forward to doing some major rep grinding in old content on him for a while – oh well, Blizzard always throws another bone and hoop out there for us to jump through in Pandaria.  My one plan is to get Fnor up to 60 exalted reps before the xpac drops.  Wish me luck and remember – I do laugh a lot even when others might not think it’s funny, I’m a tad bit twisted.

Yes, yes. That’s pretty much how it’s done. 🙂

The further up you go the more deadly things get, in general. Also, you don’t need a group for celestials, all you need to do is tap it. It used to tag to faction but not anymore. Now it’s for everyone, which is one of their better changes.

    • LOL, well, that’s always good to know and I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled for it. It was fun although nerve wracking today – thanks for letting me know that I’m doing it “right” – just running about and smashing things. 😀

  2. I was surprised… though maybe I shouldn’t have been… at how busy Timeless Isle was last night. On Sunday, on my server, it was a pretty quiet place and I had to wait around once in a while for people to show up to kill an elite rare.

But Blizz drops a patch letting people buy valor points with timeless coins and suddenly I couldn’t find an elite to kill and running after rares announced on general chat was futile as they were dying very quickly.

Way to revive the content Blizz, but it is one of those extreme feast or famine changes. I am sure it will calm down in a week or so as people get a few key upgrades, but it was funny how suddenly popular the place became.

    • I usually go out there super late night or extremely early in the mornings before other people are there. It wasn’t so bad today either, however, prime time hours could be extremely hectic. Prime time is usually when the PvP breaks out too, ran through there before the changes and decided I’d keep doing my odd hours to visit the place.

    • I did run myself ragged on the Isle most the day yesterday – got enough coins to buy the bow for my hunter. Yes, the place is a madhouse right now, however, you just have to pace yourself a bit more. Even got “accidentally” flagged up during a Celestial kill and was horribly ganked by three players, however, lesson learned. 😀

  4. When the Isle first came out I found this to be helpful:

Even now I still forget about the weekly chests, and it was a big help with Rolo’s Riddle. Yesterday it was impossible to find anything alive to kill it was so crowded but my sneaky underwater breathing Warlocks swim around the Isle getting the crabs that are down there.
