OOC – On My Way Back

February 25th, 2018

Well, this has been an interesting month for myself – decided to upgrade to the new expansion and immediately got physically ill.  Kind of reminds me of how things went when Legion started.   I hope that this isn’t the case because I am still getting caught up with the Legion expansion.   Let me tell you, getting old kind of sucks but I do think that the alternative would be totally boring.

I’m just cruising along at my usual pace and still enjoying the game when I get the opportunity to play.  Did some med changes and getting my body adjusted to that now, I think that I’ll live.  I had several days when I couldn’t even sit in front of the computer for very long and had to go back and lay down on the couch.   Now, I am feeling a bit better and will jump back into World of Warcraft.

Yes, it’s time for me to get back into the routine.  I know that I am not going to be running as crazy in the new expansion as I have been in Legion.  I’ll catch up with things eventually and I’m actually having an easier time due to the fact that I don’t have to wait on the “controlled” time-gates that  Blizzard had in the game when it was in process.  Not too bad because it’s still fun for me.  I will have to admit that I am taking my time and just enjoying the heck out of things.

Finally had to retire my oldest computer because it was just struggling trying to keep going with the things that Blizzard has added to WoW of late.  My FPS just hit the floor and it wasn’t much fun to play on although it still looked great.  So, now I’m on the market for a new gaming rig which is going to take some time since I’m not exactly going to buy “off the shelf” this time and definitely not doing the refurb route again.    Since my son is my IT guy, he’s helping me with the search for a new computer.  He definitely gets any old equipment that I have because he’s the one that has handled all of the upgrades and so on.

I’m in the process now of catching up on my reading of the blogs posted on WP and getting myself ready to do some more writing.  Hope to see you all in Azeroth soon.

  1. Looking forward to reading your stories again, but I hear you about not wanting to buy off the shelf nor refurbs.. you want something that will do what you want it to do ,as well last for quite a while. It may take time but its a long term investment, and you want to make sure you get your money’s worth. Take of yourself first, and hopefully you start feeling better soon

    • Oh yes, I am going to take some time before I make the purchase of a new gaming rig. Yep, I’m tired of not feeling well too, however, I’ll keep plugging away. Thank you for kind words.

  2. Glad you’re feeling better! Hope things continue to improve for you. I’m actually enjoying end of expansion this time – less pressure and now that I somewhat “over gear” content I don’t have to spend a gazillion gold on repairs lol.

It’s great to have someone help you with a new computer! If you and your son can build it then the cost will be a heck of a lot less than off the shelf or even refurbished.

Let us know what you get! 😀

    • Thank you for the kind words too. I know that I am enjoying a slower pace and just enjoying the content as I run into it. I know that sounds silly, however, sometimes we allow the pressure of progression bleed all of the fun out of the game.

Looking forward to getting the new rig, I know that it is going to be a good one and I’m going to take my time before I part with my money too. 😀

    • Still looking around at all of the stuff that I want and the costs. I’m definitely taking my time in getting the task done with the computer. LOL found one computer “off-the-shelf” that had everything that you could ever possibly need for the rest of your life for a paltry sum of $8k – hehe, if it had wheels and I could drive it on the street, might have considered it. 😀

  3. Good luck on the routine, meds and new computer too 🙂 I plan to go about the new expansion in a different way too, more slow paced, and indeed, no time gates will only speak in favor of that.

  4. I never have cared for the time gating parts of playing MMOs, however, I didn’t intend to lag this far behind on everything. It’s like Legion dropped and so did I – I did purchase the BfA and the same thing has happened. What can I tell you? I’ll just keep playing and enjoying the stuff that I can.

I’m looking forward to the new rig and I’ve looked at so many setups that I’m starting to narrow it down.
